I was wondering if anyone knew of a good site (with pictures) of medical oddities/birth defects, etc. It’s a bit of a morbid curiositiy I have… Any help would be appreciated - and Google doesn’t help much, unfortunately.
I’m interested in this stuff myself (sister is studying to be a pathologist) but I haven’t found good websites for it, despite looking. My sister tells me that most of the websites with interesting pictures like this that she’s seen are on intranets at medical schools, and you need a password.
You’re better off at the library of a university (and if they have a medical school, all the better). Most of the good pictures of these things were taken earlier in the century, before modern sensibilities took over.
Emedicine.com looked, at the glance I gave it, to have articles on birth defects and such…I have nursing text books that I’m sure you could get at any library.
