Medical vocabulary question

What is the painfully technical medical term for a male-to-female gender reasignment?

From everything I’ve read, it would be referred to as “male-to-female sex reassignment surgery”.

In modern gender theory, sex refers to your biological makeup, while gender is a social construct. You can find lots of info by Googling “gender theory”.

The Current Procedural Terminology calls it “Intersex Surgery” and makes the distinction between male-to-female and female-to-male. CPT isn’t the definitive source, though. In the few cases I’ve had to deal with someone who is either in transition or post-surgical, the report has been worded something like “the patient has undergone gender reassignment surgery.”
