Meet the Marks...... Explain

So I caught the last 5 minutes of this show yesterday…

Can someone explain the premise… More than “It’s a hidden camera show.”

From the previews it appeared to be a Sitcom with a hidden camera gimmick. Innocent people would be thrown into sitcom situations.

From the little I saw this appeared to be true. A regular guy has to pose as another character’s boyfriend. The real boyfriend shows up.

My understanding was that it would be like sitcom with regular characters and an evolving storyline… Is this the case?

On the “Next week on…” promo they said that “You’ve seen the wedding, (apparently earlier in the show?), now see the bachelorette pary.”

This would seem to throw out a continuity aspect.

Can someone set me straight?

I liked the idea of the Sitcom where real people are forced into stock situations but you’d actually be interested in the characters as well.
But if this isn’t the case… well… Murder in Small Town X sounded good in the previews as well…and we all know how that turned out. (insert 9/11 joke here).

I don’t know. Not having seen the show, all I can judge from are FOX press materials. And they don’t tell much…

Two stories per show…that may mean something. And it’s from the person who bought us America’s Funniest Home Videos!

From what I saw of it, it looks like the characters are consistent, but the storylines may not be. Like the same actor plays “The Dad” every week, and the same deal with the rest of the family.
