There are many of us who have expressed appreciation for Aldebaran in this and other threads. You don’t have to have a specific background or viewpoint to value his posts. It does help if you are open-minded and a grownup and have no need to bully anyone. An awareness of the influence of cultural differences, whatever those cultures may be, is also helpful.
Aldebaran, don’t forget those of us who are hoping that you have changed your mind and are staying. You know from other threads that there are many of us. There is nothing dishonest in changing your mind. Mehitabel made a major concession and you have also admitted to imperfections. Does anything else in this thread really matter?
I know that there remains one question that you want answered. Sometimes we have to live with not knowing, no matter how unfair it may seem. There can be grace and learning when we accept not knowing. But now I’m telling you something that you’ve known for a long time anyway.
There don’t seem to be very many mods present in the Pit lately. Maybe they’re here, but not posting much. Others have noticed too. It’s not just you.

Namely the referring to this thread to underscore disappointed outcries like: “You said you were gone… etc…” :

Yes, I admit here in writing that for now I decided to come back to my decision to deprive this message board from my useful presence.
At this point I can already imagine the protests against my use of the word “useful”. Let me explain in a pre-emptive manner how unfounded such protests are:
a) Some people seem to like to read my posts. They only now and then become vocal about that.
b) Others like to attack my posts or my cyber-persona and are mostly very vocal about that.
c) Hence I can rightfully conclude that I am at least able to entertain a rather divided and opposed spectrum of SDMB users. Nothing is so beneficial for a community of any kind then shared entertainment.
d) This on itself makes me already a useful asset to the forums because of the inherent unifying factor (although that factor may be not directly visible to the superficial thinker). -
I admit freely that this decision was influenced by the experience that the SDMB – despite some unanswered requests – provides for one of the better message boards on the internet(s).

As friend duffer came to remind me with an unseen display of cyberspace-friendship, there is no other place in the world where I can come to recruit potential terrorists adhering the Islamic faith. You really do not see any other message board on the internet(s) where there are so many Muslims present as active members. This is my secret driving factor behind my decision to keep on terrorizing the SDMB (In addition to the warm and cosy feeling that I am surrounded by Muslim brothers and sisters, all rallying to my cause.)

I could almost hear the sighs of relief that unavoidably had to be provoked among Administrators With Migraine (yes Lynn, I read your thread about it and as one who is visited by this now and then I could only feel a strong empathy for your pain) and Moderators with Tensed Nerves by my announcement that I was gone. Hence my apologies for not being gone yet (possibility of some strange occurrence of immediate banning not in calculated).
5.Reading again the posts Mehitabel made in this thread I only see her posting “conditions” and next I see a repeating of a post she made months ago about some homeless guy she knew. I did not understand that post the first time and have no clue about what it means today either. If talking about a homeless guy must imply that she means me… My only answer can be: ???… (Is she in this reasoning influenced by the idea that I am a poor orphan?)
Maybe Mehitabel can explain the meaning/intention of that post to the English-Illiterate (not yet homeless) Orphan, especially since other readers seem to recognize in it some sort of inclination Mehitabel showed towards answering the requests in my OP in a positive manner.
If so, then I send Mehitabel flowers to express on a friendly manner a sense of cease-fire, intending I shall have no hard feelings about this.
And maybe this thread can be closed now?
