Mel Brooks’ History of the World, Part 2

  :joy:

I have seen Part 1 more than I’ve seen any other movie; it is comedy genius from start to finish. I am very happy to see Mr. Brooks’ return to comedy!

Well it’s about time.

I enjoy “History of the World, Part 1” very much. It is an excellent series of funny skits stitched together pretty well. I’ll plan to watch this when it is out.

My favorite scene from the movie:

It better have Hitler on ice

I wonder if he’ll re-score “Jews in Space,” considering how things turned out in the interim?

Would a mention of Jewish Space Lasers be too “political”?

For Mel Brooks?? Is there such a thing?

Remember his comment about Blazing Saddles, about how they were lying to the studio about the content while making it because they knew the studio would shut it down!

Treasure bath!

The Inquisition was the funniest thing my 14 year old self had seen up to that point in my life. Still cracks me up.

My favorite scene is the opener:

“Our forefathers”

My second favorite is the one about art:

“With the birth of the artist came the inevitable afterbirth: the critic”

Hitler on Ice. Jews in space. A Viking funeral.
Man, looking forward to it.

Had Volynov flown when the original came out? I think so.

I should’ve been clearer. He ended up using the “Jews in Space” music for Robin Hood: Men in Tights, so if that segment is still a musical, it might need a different tune?

A new teaser has been released:

It looks like a bunch of Drunk History bits stitched together. Not that that’s a bad thing.

Exactly what I thought. Features a ton of the same actors.

I feel like he lost a comedy step on Men In Tights and the Dracula film, but I’m happy to be wrong.

The biggest problem with Men in Tights and Dracula, was the female lead. Amy Yasbeck is not a bad comedienne, but whenever she was onscreen, I found myself thinking, “I miss Madeline Kahn.”

Those are huge shoes to fill for anyone.

it’s twoo, it’s twoo!

Did he ever make Space Balls 2 - the search for more cash?
