Men: Do any of you actually find platform sandals attractive?

Teehee. I own a pair of these, though they are quite obviously girl-boots, and I’m the most feminine out of all my friends. As in, I only wear skirts/dresses, except when I’m exercising. And sometimes I even go biking in a (long) skirt.

I’m not offended anything, I just thought it was really funny.

I like them. Sometimes they look kind of slutty, and whats not to like about slutty girls?

I’m not a big fan.

The ankle strappy ones, mmm.

Ditto

Also I feels it implies some sort of insecurity on her part, she feels inadaquit so she is making herself taller.

As opposed to many of the other posters here, I am quite short (sub-5 feet). Platform shoes send my girlfriend into the stratosphere. I can definitely see directly into her nasal cavity and admire her b00bs a bit better. I feel like Mini-Me when she wears those refrigerators on her feet.

My vote for hottest accesory on a girl is the handkerchief-on-the-head/do-rag thing.

Well, who isn’t turned on by the sight of a woman banging her head on door lintels while tottering on two club feet like the Bride of Frankenstein?

(I was a teenager during the Seventies. The Seventies were bad enough during the Seventies … no need to bring them back now.)

True.

I would say that platform sandals are the worst footwear trend of the last 20 years, but I can’t honestly say that because the worst footwear trend of the last 20 years is idiots who wear socks with sandals. So platform sandals is a distant second, way behind socks with sandals and right ahead of guys wearing sandals while wearing long pants.

They’re utterly ridiculous.

I’m a girl. I love platforms, especially my four inch platform knee high boots. I love clunky shoes, and in fact every pair of shoes I own is kind of heavy and thick soled. Even my dress shoes are clunky-heels semi-platform Mary Janes.

That said, I really really don’t get those sandals. I keep wanting to buy them, as they fit the criteria of both clunky and platformy. Plus, they are cheap and everywhere. But they are so godforsaken hideous and hard to walk in. I’m only somewhat clumsy in my boots, but I can’t even take a few steps in those things.h

I’d say that if I found the woman attractive, I wouldn’t care much about the shoes.

I love them, the bigger the better.

Those things and what we in Australia call thongs make women look less attractive and less intelligent. I know you’re shorter than you appear because you’re waddling around with a housebrick under each foot. I wouldn’t sleep with Uma Thurman if she turned up in platforms. Well…anyway you get my drift.

As with everything of this sort, it depends on who’s wearing them.

And I actually notice shoes. Maybe that’s why I’m so good with 'da ladies.

I owned a pair of those things. I think I ended up wearing them maybe four or five times. I couldn’t walk properly, I couldn’t drive my car, and when I’m clamboring over students’ backpacks anyways, it just seemed like one more way to fall flat on my face.

They got donated to charity.

I notice shoes as well and the more of the foot they show off the better. Who sez feet ain’t sexy?

The platform thongs? Eh, they’re alright but I like strappy things better. Or something that shows some toe cleavage.

KellyM looks great in her platform wedge sandals. At nearly six feet bare foot she doesnt need the extra height, but the big shoes maker her feet look smaller and she walks just fine in them, no JarJar strut there! I never liked the style before, but it really suits her.

I gotta be honest and say that I never ever notice a woman’s shoes. So, to answer the OP, no, not really, but I would answer the same about any type of shoe.

Can I add a few to the list? Besides the platform sandals (and platform shoes, and big clunky boots), I personally know of no straight males who like:
Capri slacks
Stirrup pants
visible thongs on any woman even approaching “chunkified”
ditto for belly-button rings on a woman of some size
I speak as a chunkified male in saying that maybe some of us shouldn’t call attention to our extra area and mass.

But hey, if a woman is dressing to please herself, she should do what she wants. If she wants to appear attractive to men, then maybe listen to the majority of this thread.

Ditto.
