It varies with us. Sometimes I do it, sometimes she does it. It’s officially ‘her’ chore, but I have exactly enough pairs of slacks/shirt to get through one week whereas she can outfit a small army in smart fashion choices, so if I hit Sunday without seeing her start on it, I’ll just go ahead and take care of it.
I have managed to get her to stop buying crap clothes that can’t be washed right though. A few dozen shrunk tops later she has embraced my shopping viewpoint of "no special care clothing’. I have light and dark…towels and sheets separate. Everything goes in the dryer. If it can’t be cleaned with that method, don’t buy it. We don’t have time for a complex laundry system that takes a flow chart to follow.
Whoever needs laundry done just does it. Works out 50-50 most of the time. But my girlfriend hates ironing, so I usually do that. Meanwhile I hate washing cutlery, so it balances out.
Mrs Moniker and I both do laundry. Her off days are weird while mine are always on the weekends so it falls to whichever of us is off when it needs doing. I’d estimate that she does it slightly more often than I do.
However, no matter who does laundry, we always leave the last load in the dryer for a day or two. Ya know, just to make sure that it’s really dry and wrinkled.
I hate to break it to you askeptic but in all likelihood she noticed and hasn’t said anything. I get a lot of amusement out of the myriad things my boyfriend thinks I don’t know. Its shocking to hear but many women prefer not to ruffle feathers over little things like this (or maybe I’m just totally abnormal girlfriend wise).
Bah, all you singles are pathetic. I’m single, but I don’t use that as an excuse to do the laundry. Eventually my dirty clothes become alive and start moving around by themselves. Suddenly, I’m no longer single!
