We do our slow dancing lying down.
Oh, dancing. That takes me back. For some reason, the dance teacher will always pair him with the shortest girl. And trust me, carrying her around is not the way to impress!
That was the case back when I was in high school. She stood on a chair.
Back when I was in HS, at dinner we would start passing the dishes around the table with the person next to me passing them away from me. When they made it around to me, I’d dump whatever was left on my plate.
My son is 5’11". We always encouraged him to have his friends over to the house, but we often commented that it was like a plague of locusts had gone through our cabinets.
Potatoes, rice and pasta are cheap. Just make an extra serving of the main course/side, and a ton of filler. And always have plenty of fresh fruit around.
Worry less, and don’t over think.
He will be what he will be, maybe 6’7" maybe 5’7" neither matters.
Will he hit his head on things? that isn’t dependent on how tall he is, i am short, you do not want to know how much i have hit my head on things.
Try explaining how at 5 feet tall one splits their head open on the top of a door frame, at least at 6’7" no one even looks twice at you for it.
Will he have arthritis?
Maybe, i have arthritis, so does probably 75% of the world, he will get old so yea eventually probably, it’s only mildly annoying.
Just because he is tall does not necessarily mean he is doomed there, more a case of how much us boys tend to smash and break every part of our bodies.
Will people ask him to reach things if he is 6’7"? Of course they will.
Same as 6"7" people ask me, hey can you possibly reach that down under there? my tall ass wont fit.
Will he eat $1000 a month in food?
He is a child right? Then food is a lost cause Expect it to vanish
But $1000 a month? doubtful unless you are feeding him some expensive goodies, that is an awful lot of normal food, now him and 5 friends? Oh yea wave bye bye food.
Is this your first kid? or at least your first boy?
If so, buckle up and keep your hands and arms inside the ride at all times, we are an adventure all it’s own.
Enjoy the ride, we grow up soon and then it’s over.
I already bake my own bread and make my own pizza. I thought about fresh pasta, but boxed pasta is so cheap. Fortunately, the boychik loves it.
The pediatrician has him drinking a PediaSure (generic equivalent) every day already. He loves them and thinks they are a treat :gagging smiley here:. He also eats breakfast cereal as a snack, and goes through a couple of boxes a week. He gets sugary cereal only is he is eating his other foods, but since he normally does, not a big deal.
We are vegetarians, but he loves soy hot dogs, fake chicken nuggets and patties, cheese and eggs. He eats an egg a days, nearly every day. He also eats a lot of yogurt, the full fat kind.
He might be hitting puberty early (I did), which would be good, because he’ll stop growing earlier.
Like I said, I’d rather he was overly tall than overly short, but I’d really just like him to be in the 5’10-6’3 range.
He was a big baby, but we first knew he was growing prodigiously when he went in for his two-year check up, and the doctor announced that he’d gown six inches in the last year. ! We had no idea. It was around two-1/2 that people started either commenting on his height, or mistaking him for a much older child.
Ballroom dancing is a socially acceptable way to get his hands on other guys women.
6.4¼ and pretty proportional. Way tall in grade school but I only really had problems with the cramping. (much more is known about things to do as parents today for a tall child )
Many charlie horse leg cramps through 10 to 15 years
Eat like crazy
My coordination never did catch up to me, clumsy to this day.
PIA = clothes, airplanes, cars, trains, bicycles etc…
Can I suggest he try out tennis?
Having a longer reach and being able to reach up higher (think serves) is a big advantage in tennis.
