Store’s ‘men’s nurseries’ offer a respite - In London, reluctant male shoppers find a sanctuary
We have one of thaose at the local mall.
It’s called “Hooters.”
Too funny! If they added a self-serve beer tap it would be perfect!!!
This is new? When I was growing up, the “mens’ nursery” was the TV department at Sears.
I could swear there was one of these at a Fieldcrest Cannon outlet store somewhere by Gulf Shores, Alabama. I remember my grandmother dropping me off there when I was a kid. God, I hated that store. Anyway, does that sound familiar to anyone?
I thought that’s what Shaper Image and similar technology/toy stores were for…
p.s. There are really malls with Hooters?
West Edmonton Mall has Hooters…
My experience in Europe is that the Daddy Daycares are fairly common and usually do serve beer. I’ve been known to avail myself of their services from time to time when the SO is in browsing mode.
Wait a minute… If the men are at the Men’s Nursery, who is carrying their SO’s purses?
I so had this idea. Damn I knew I was on the right track.
Couches, TVs, headphones so as to not disturb other shoppers…
Such a good idea.
I always thought that the “DadZone” suggested in that one Baby Blues comic strip was a neat idea.
Glad to hear the real business world agrees.
Great idea.
Am I the only one who thinks the name sounds like a letter to Penthouse magazine?
I always thought every major clothing store should have a old tv, three lawn chairs or so, and maybe a bowl of peanuts in a dimly lit, ignored corner of the store. I’m fine shopping for Christmas gifts, toys, electronics, movies, CDs, and books, but it only takes me a short while to find clothes I like, Thank you. My mom, sister, and metrosexual brother could spend hours. Thank God I now have the option of driving home. You have to trick me into shopping at one of these places with no escape plan.
