My understanding of scriptures I believe points to God’s plan for humanity in Paradise is not planning parenthood but let God do it.
In our fallen society I believe it would work today IF the motivation was to trust God, and not just following a written ‘law’ or a code, but trust in God with all your heart that God knows best. As such trying to delay parenthood would be not trusting God and be less desirable then a life trusting God.
