Messing with Apple's TouchID...

Now that I’ve upgraded to an iPhone 6, I’ve been deliberately been trying to confuse the TouchID system, by seeing if I can get non-fingerprints to unlock the phone…

Toes; yes, they work
Tip of the nose; plausible, gets 90% complete but then said the fingerprint can’t be used, possibly due to lack of variation in the nasal profile
Tongue; failed

Still to try;
Cat’s paw
Dog’s paw
Chicken foot
Rubber worm

Why do this. Why not, it’s for science… You monster

Speaking from personal experience, using a strong degreaser (like Castrol Purple) will mess up your fingerprints enough to require re-entering them.

Most of the problems of modern society can be directly linked to a lack of variation in the nasal profile. But I want to hear you explain to the poor cashier why you need to remove your shoes to use Apple Pay.

Okay, I had to google. Rule 34 and all, people have used their penises. Apparently a cat’s paw will work as well.

The only time I’ve ever been in an Apple Store, one of the “Geniuses” had yep, a ultilikilt on. He wouldn’t even have to 'scuse himself while he whipped this out.

It is funny how well (or not well) it works for some people. I really struggle to make it work while using actual fingers.

It also seems to degrade for me. I can put in my fingerprints and it seems like it is working really well. But over the weeks and months, Touch ID works less and less. I have to delete the fingerprint and start over.

I’m a little confused by what it is you are actually doing.

Are you registering your toes in the setup, and then seeing if your toes can unlock the phone?
