"Sun Activity
REPORTER: Bob Burnett-Kurie
FIRST AIRED: April 25, 2001

The sun is back to a very active state.

Active region 9393 continues to grow and now is about the size of six earths put together. Three weeks ago sunspot 9393 unleashed the most powerful solar flare ever recorded. That’s unlikely to recur, but the region bears watching.

Late on Monday, an enormous prominence hurled a bright ejection into space. However, it did not head towards earth, so we were spared some of the disruptions with radio and TV signals that sometimes occurs with flares.

The third event is a coronal hole stretching northward from the sun’s south pole."

etc etc

Geez, I wish we had reports like that. The station I listen to usually says something like, “It’s gonna be warm today.” And that’s it.
