That is really hard… Uma would be great, and you pretty much have to use someone who is already famous or the movie will tank…
Jennifer Garner, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Michelle Yeoh are other decent possibilities in my mind…

IIRC, the morph ball is explicitly said to be one meter in diameter. It’s really hard to see whether this is consistent or no in Metroid Prime - my suspicion is that the ball is whatever size it needs to be - but the ball should be about waist-high on Samus. It wouldn’t exactly be comfortable, but she’d fit.
Note, however:
Pirate data confirmed that the space pirates were trying very hard to replicate the morph ball functionality. All “test subjects” died in rather nasty ways.
Unless you enter the right code at the beginning of the movie… then she’ll strip.

My WAG about the consistency of the film: about 30% exposition (no suit needed), 50% exploration (suit with no helmet, and yes, she’ll probably have a sidekick), and 20% blowing things up (full suit and helmet; after sidekick turns out to be evil and is fed to a metroid, she’ll be on her own).
I’m worried about Metriod being screwed up by Woo. I too worry about doves being oh-so-conveniently placed on an alien pirate world. However, as for the movie and what might be in it:
I wonder how Kraid will be portrayed. Will they go with the NES version where he’s about the same size as Samus or will they go with the SNES version where he’s like over 5 stories tall.
As for Ridley, I’m sure he’ll be a big nuisance to Samus throughout her venture through Zebes. I just hope that he won’t be made to be some sort of comic relief as a bumbling alien.
Mother Brain… I can only hope they do NOT make her anything like her cartoon-self from the Captain N… TV show way back when. If so, that’ll be the deal breaker.
Oh yeah, I wonder what version of Samus will they feature in the movie. Will it be the one where she has that poofy red hair or the one where she has purple hair and she seems to be quite… cold.
I’d have Samus in her suit the entire film, and she’d rarely if ever talk. And when she did, you wouldn’t be able to recognize the voice as human. And there would be no other good guys. The suit would not look obviously female, and in the end she’d strip it off. The last scene would be her walking away from the camera butt-naked. (And that’s all the nudity we’d see.)
I never saw House of the Dead, and I don’t think I’m missing anything. I never saw the first Tomb Raider either, but went to the second for a movie fix. I knew it would be laughable, and enjoyed it only in that context. Otherwise, it sucked.
It’s been too long since I’ve seen Street Fighter, so I can’t really comment. The first Mortal Kombat was all right, nothing special.
Resident Evil, however, I didn’t bother going to see in the theatre. And that was a mistake. I was dogsitting for some friends sometime later, and they had the DVD. I loved it! Granted, it wasn’t scary in the least, unlike the games, but I really liked it as a movie on its own. And I can’t wait for the sequel.
That said, nobody’s mentioned the Mario Bros. film.
Because it never happened.
Oh man, I forgot about the mario bros movie. Must have blocked it out. Dennis Hopper as Koopa, John Leguizamo as Luigi. All bad.
I agree that Mortal Kombat was actually a good movie, but Mortal Kombat 2 was so bad that it spilled over onto the original.
