Mexico City from the air

I was flying out of Mexico City last week and a bit past the city I saw two parralell lines that seemed to be made of clear cut trees or something that extended way off into the distance. They didn’t look like roads. Any idea what they might be?

How wide was it? It could be a pipeline right of way. If there were towers it would be a power line right of way. Those cleared areas really stand out.

There are also several very straight canals that feed Mexico City like the Gran Channel de Desegue(sp?). They don’t always look blue, either.

Well I was fairly high in the air when I saw them and they were really high. Maybe it was canals, though. I’ll have to check out a map.
