Didn’t see anybody respond, so I’ll give it a shot. When I lived in Kansas, doing container citrus was pretty much the only way to go, and people have been successful. I had a couple of orange trees, and got a few small oranges. I’ve heard that Meyers are fairly finicky to grow in containers, though.
One thing to be mindful of (and what did me in) wasn’t the winter, but the summer. I basically cooked the trees in the heat. Needed more water, and probably not quite as much sun. Look around the web for “container citrus” there should be a lot of resources.
Martha Stewart is an American “Lifestyle” maven. She does food, home decorating, gardening, and other stuff I’ve probably forgotten. Tv shows, cook books, magazines. Her stuff has a reputation of being very pretty, in the best of taste and perfectly executed, and probably not practical for mere mortals like the rest of us.
