Apparently, Michael Crichton died ‘enexpectedly’ today and had been privately battling cancer.

Thanks for the books and the movies. The Andromeda Strain and The Terminal Man really inspired me as teen, sorry to see him go.

He was one of my favorite authors back when I was a kid. Everything up through Timeline (how he managed to screw up a TIME TRAVEL book is beyond me, but I lost interest in him after that) was great and I always looked forward to seeing how his novels (which at the time were written to be READ, not turned into movies) would stack up on the big screen.
