Michael Moore. You Frickin Idiot

I’m all the way with MM on that score and see nothing but positive results based on the limited premise you present.

Every person has control over their own actions including those with unintended conseqences.

Okay, I was wrong about you having kids. See? Easy-peasy. When confronted with credible evidence that I’m wrong, I’m certainly willing to admit it.

Now, having said that I could swear that I read sometime in the last year to year-and-a-half something you said with regard to your “kids”. I remember this specifically because it truly saddened me to think that some poor kids were going to have to grow up in a household with you as the father. I’m not kidding either. Happily you must have been speaking of your students. Still, given what we know of your behavior off board, like the time you stamped your feet and screamed at some old couple because their dog bit you and then came on the board showing pictures of the wounds and seeking approval for the assholey way you behaved; and given comments you make, like “Yeah, I’m an asshole. I own it”; and given the way that you, like Lobohan, seem incapable of having any kind of exchange with someone you disagree with without including the words ‘moron’ or ‘idiot’ or some derivation thereof, it’s hardly a stretch to think this kind of behavior is typical of your offboard life as well.

So it’s all good. I seem to have embarrassed you into knocking off, at least temporarily, the “moron”/“idiot” accusations you’ve peppered this thread with so generously, and I no longer have to feel sorry for the kids you thankfully don’t have after all. Believe me, the relief of finding out you don’t actually have children is more than worth being outed for having been wrong about it. It’s a win/win situation for me all the way around.

Are you suggesting that being upset with the owners because their dog bit you is an inappropriate reaction?

What about if it happened before 1965?

As it happens, I was recently bitten by a dog too. Twice. By a German Shepherd, no less. His name was “Force”. Look up how mhendo acted (stamping his feet, screaming and cursing and frightening the old couple the dog belonged to) vs. how I reacted, and you’ll see what I would think of as an appropriate reaction. Both episodes should be searchable.

This is the funniest thing I have read all month.

You are actually willing to argue about whether or not a stranger has children, based on “your memory” of his posts on a messageboard.

FYI - your memory is indeed exceedingly faulty. This is fine, as it can keep your logical argument skills and your common sense company.

I see you’ve actually admitted you’re wrong. Whew, what a relief! mhendo, you dodged a bullet there for child support back-payments!

So getting upset when you’re bitten by a dog and having kids ties into this thread…how?

I’m still trying to wrap my mind around Osama Bin Laden and Michael Moore’s actions being comparable.

If we’re throwing out random things into the conversation, I’ll point out that I can’t help reading the thread title as though Joe Pesci from Home Alone was saying it. You know…“frickin frackin” instead of dropping f bombs and all that.

But Michael Moore does not have control over what his political opponents do, in the same way that I can control my actions, but not yours.

If I were to follow your argument to its’ logical conclusion, whatever Moore says is likely to get chopped up, distorted, and used to further inflame the right through either/both Fox News and the blogoshphere. Therefore, under your logic Moore can do nothing about a situation which apparently he feels deeply about. Saying what he did is a calculated risk. We all take calculated risks, because the consequences of all are actons are still subject to chance in some form or fashion.

In fact, those of us who are not on board with the current political current of the country couldn’t do anything either, because those on the opposing side might feel threatened and become more strident.

So your argument is not an argument I consider to hold water, Mr Dutchman. I think Michael Moore is trying to do right as he sees it; most of us are.

No, not at all. I made comments about three aspects of mhendo’s life which I believed to be so: that he’s a teacher, is married, and had kids. He denied one aspect of that but didn’t say which. So I tried to puzzle out which one it was (thus obviously recognizing that I must have made an error somewhere, or that his life circumstances had changed), and then, when mhendo pointed out where the error was, which was that he had no kids, I readily acknowledged it as fact. Apparently he had at some point referred to his students as his kids and I misunderstood. Big deal. Still, at no point did I argue with him after he’d specified what he was talking about.

Actually, there are literally hundreds of occasions on this board when i have had disagreements with people without using any epithets whatsoever. I generally only resort to such tactics when what other people say is so fucking stupid as to require no other response. Maybe that’s why you notice me doing it so often.

Well, if it makes you feel better, you are still a dribbling fucking moron and an idiot, and The Flying Dutchman’s arguments in this thread are still comfortably in the moron/idiot zone. In his case, though, the condition seems to be episodic; in yours, it’s permanent.

Yeah, I thought that wisecrack about having embarrassed you into backing off with the moron insults would be more than you could resist, and of course couldn’t.

Like shooting fish in a barrell.

You know, you don’t have to burble ever single thought you have onto the keyboard. It might behoove you to stop, think and ruminate for a while before you simply type the next thing that enters your cranium.

Just a friendly suggestion.

Oh, you have no idea of the self-censoring I do around this place.

So there are things you don’t say that are even more stupid than the stuff you do say? You don’t say!

Moore is absolutely right. In America we have a separation of church and state and we are not supposed to discriminate against any religion. His radical belief is believing in the constitution and expecting us to follow it. I am glad he is willing to defend the reasons on which we based our nation. Some petty little haters are defending their right to hate and discriminate. They are at minimum un-American.

One can only hope.

Yet the community center/mosque is being built 2 1/2 blocks away from the so called sacred ground. It is surrounded by off track betting and sex clubs. That does not strike me as sacred ground. This is an attempt to spin lies into votes. It appeals to people who are walking around pissed off and the Repubs are trying to focus their anger by a story of lies in order to get a political advantage. It is shameful ,not just because it is a fabrication, but because it is against American values.

So, how far does sacred ground extend? And did all establishments inside that perimeter become sacred on that date, or are they still bars and strip clubs?

Considering that a lot of these morons already believe said community center actually is a mosque and that it’s being built right ON Ground Zero, how is what Moore is saying going to fire them up any more than they already are?

How dare you all denigrate the site of the sacred coat factory! May you never be blessed by the divine light of the leather bomber jacket (hallowed by thy name).

You know who else got bitten by a dog and had children???

Osama bib Laden. Hitler didn’t have children!
