Michael Moore. You Frickin Idiot

Won’t someone think of the coats?

This person is a teacher!

And he’s married!

And he has kids!

One can only try to imagine the hijinks as these people struggle to find happiness in life despite having their intelligence insulted every time they say something that mhendo happens to disagree with - for there are only two modes to mhendo’s alleged mind: a) You say something he agrees with; or, b) You’re a fucking moron!

At least the frequency and redundancy of these childish insults likely have the effect of becoming background noise, much as it has with me…still, as one who is inclined to “think of the children”, I know of several children who would likely be better off and live much happier lives were he to find himself permanently stranded on a desert island somewhere.

And so would we of the SDMB.

There may be hope for you yet.

I sense that you are beginning to realize the stupidity of your position.

As evidenced by your cropping my post to highlight only one side of a statement that I responded to positively, in order to manufacture a discrepency in my position.

I’m afraid that I have to take back my view that you’re honest .

That puts you even lower in my estimation .

It is too bad that you won’t accept the fact that in a situation where emotions are raging, that one side will take what they want to hear, some will simply ignore, and the other side will take something completely different.

But then, if your objective is simply to save face in this silly argument we are having, you’ll have to take a different tack. So far, its not working for you.

Congratulations! You got two out of three correct.

In the world of Starving Artist factual assertions, that constitutes a veritable sterling performance, one that leaves most of your SDMB efforts in the dust.

Good work!

Save face? You’re hilarious!

Your post, #37, is a perfect encapsulation of your position in this thread. As i said, nothing more need be added.

So what happened? You get fired or has your wife left you?

Good answer

When you’re stuck

Like a pig.

Occam’s Razor, my friend.

In your case, that should mean that, when you discover you are incorrect about something, the simplest and most likely explanation is NOT that circumstances have changed, but that you are simply wrong. As usual.

Don’t confuse hysteria with hilarity

You’re funny.

What the hell is wrong with you?

Thankyou

I’ve enjoyed this exchange

You’re saying that masterminding a terrorist act and mass murder is the same thing as expressing the opinion that people should do something peaceful and legal, but that might, theoretically, although you cannot prove it, contribute to completely different people to behave poorly.

What the fuck’s wrong with you?

Okay, I’m getting a sense of a problem.

I don’t know why you and Miller perhaps are focusing on an equivalence on my part with the role of Michael Moore and ObL. Nothing is farther from the truth.
the former needs to be pitted, while the latter needs to experience the full force of international law.
The post you quoted is simply my disagreement with characterizing MM’s statement as an " observation" . You must realize that we are both engaged in a silly tit for tat.

To get back to the thrux of my position, it is simply that MM as a public figure bears responsibility for the result of his statements no matter how laudable they are. He does have power. People do take note of what he says. I actually agree with him 100% , but it isn’t going to happen and I’m apprehensive about how his statement will be perceived and thus promoted by those who see a threat or an insult by Islam. In turn, I am apprehensive about how that negative response will be perceived in the Islamic world.

On those occasions when I’m wrong (as opposed to those where people sling questionable cites at me and expect me to take them as gospel), I’m quite willing to acknowledge it. A search of my user name and the word “apologize” would turn up several such instances.

So, having got that out of the way, let’s take a look at where I must be wrong. Unless my memory is exceedingly faulty, you do indeed have children and you are indeed a teacher. That leaves my reference to you having a wife as the point in question. But without regard as to whether your relationship is marital, common-law or no longer extant, the point remains that you are in charge of young people who have little defense against your attempts to convince yourself of your own superior intelligence by insulting and belittling them, assuming you behave the same way in your off board life as you do here.

On the other hand you may be nothing more than an internet tough guy and it’s the students and your kids who run roughshod over you.

You are just too funny!

Your understanding of my own situation apparently parallels your understanding of history in general: for you, it’s nothing more than your own subjective experiences funneled through your own faulty memory and your own distorted worldview. Evidence doesn’t matter; facts don’t matter; all that matters is what you remember.

Let’s compare your memory to the evidence shall we?

All quotes collected from the last couple of years. If i went back further, i could find plenty more.

Interesting that, despite the multiple occasions on which i’ve explicitly stated that i don’t want children and don’t have children, your memory was precisely the opposite. Tells us something about you and your memory, i think.

It’s also interesting that, as per usual, you attempt to deflect attention from your factual inaccuracies (who wouldn’t, i guess, if they were wrong as often as you are?) to focus on what you think you know about me.

Just like your factual assertions are generally nothing more than a reflection of your personal experiences and prejudices, so your claims about how i behave away from the boards, with my wife and in my classrooms, are based on nothing except sheer speculation and wishful thinking. Just because i treat you and a couple of other brain-dead assholes around here like the drooling imbeciles that you are doesn’t mean that i fail to uphold standards of professional conduct in my won classroom, or that i’m a poor partner to my wife.

But hey, if believing otherwise helps you get through the day, knock yourself out. One more wild fantasy bouncing around in your vacant skull won’t make much difference.

Michael more trying to stir up shit? You don’t say!!!

Build a mosque on ground zero? It wouldn’t bother me one bit. Did someone up thread say it was government property? That would be a bit of a problem, but if they sell to a private entity, build away!

Okay. So if someone actually builds a mosque on Ground Zero, based in part of Moore’s suggestion to do so, I’ll credit Moore, in part, for that happen.

But then, what would be wrong with that?

If on the other hand someone else were to commit an act of violence because someone else built a mosque, no, Moore is not responsible for that.

I suppose you also blame Civil Rights activists for the murder of Medgar Evers.

That would be wonderful. You and I know that it just won’t happen.

It isn’t one or two acts of violence that worries me. I wouldn’t discredit Moore with that. It isn’t the sensibilities of anti Islamic American citizens that worries me. It is the degradation of positive American values in the American community and moreso the perception of what the American ideal stands for in the Islamic world that concerns me.

There are responsibilities when you have the bully pulpit.

Again you make absolutely no sense.

If Moore calls for Americans to be more tolerant and accepting of Islam, how does that constitute a “degradation of positive American values in the American community,” and how does it negatively affect “the perception of what the American ideal stands for in the Islamic world”? Again you’re blaming Moore for actions over which he has no control, and blaming him for causing something that is the precise opposite of what he is arguing for.
