Touchscreens on laptops are nice. I wouldn’t willingly but a laptop that didn’t have a touchscreen these days. After having had one, I really like it
You still go on the List.
The thing I like most about that song is that I can’t understand a word they’re saying, and then suddenly they drop in an English phrase
Nega che cha lage… BILLION DOLLAR BABY!
Microsoft should really stop trying to compete with Apple in making cool ads; it just makes them lot a bit desperate. I will admit to liking this song quite a bit, though. Have you heard it mashed up with “Gangnam Style”?
So if I go fishing and catch a cat, then that’s a gato pescado?
I had no idea what commercial the OP is referring to but after having following the link I cannot agree more. Fuck me, what an irritating song. And he’s right, it does come on all the damn time. Now, being a geezer, I don’t have that new fangled technology where I can disappear all the commercials. I just usually tune them out and do something else until my story resumes. But that piece if crap I can never seem to tune out. For me it’s not the beat or style of music but that whiny voice, shouting. . . whatever it is she’s shouting. I would voluntarily watch a four day long loop of Mr. Astley if I was guaranteed to never have to hear that song again.
Are we talking about the song that sounds like a Gangnam Style ripoff?
ETA: based on Dervorin’s post I’m guessing yes.
Thought it was pretty funny that during the Super Bowl, every time the camera showed Brady sitting on the sideline during the game, one of the hugeass Microsoft Surface recharge stations was sitting right behind him with the side panels open. Besides all the docks for the Surface tablets, there are also some regular 120V receptacles in there. One of which proudly sported the distinctive white cube and cable of an iPhone charger.
Yep. Or if you catch a cat in flagrante delicto, we also use pescar for that. Then again, when a cat does it it’s not a crime, whatever it was. If you get the cat out of a full bathtub, after it fell in while trying to catch the yellow ducky, it’s a twice-pescado cat
Yup, except it came out in 2011, a year before Gangnam Style. And the girls singing it look a hell of a lot better than Psy.
Damn! That ain’t half bad with the sound off!
That’s it, baby steps! You’ll be a raver in no time.
2NE1 is awesome! Probably the best of the Korean girl groups. Good for them to get some nationwide exposure over here.
But I have to wonder what Microsoft was thinking when using their music. I thought their American presence is very low. Do they get any airplay at all in the US? Does MS expect Americans to Shazam the song? Or did YG simply give MS a good price to get more American exposure?
I find it utterly useless, and only serves to annoy when I go to brush some dust or speck of debris off the screen. I finally went into device manager and disabled the thing.
Ha Ha!!! I just watched the video that Troutman linked to, and they really do say Billion Dollar Baby!! HA!
Now you’re just trying to make the List.
Mmmmm, hot shower and sharing an ice cream sundae.
I’m convinced that the best thing about being a singer in Korea or Japan has to be the costumes. Just don’t hug her while she’s walking the dog.
I looked that up a while back, too. He caught a dogfish, not a catfish. At least, that’s what these guys say about gato being used for a fish.
Plus giving you that link lets me point out the funny comments about eating catfish.
And Gangnam Style was a parody, so the similarities are intentional.
