Microsoft outlook and a system restore.. can I get emails back that have been deleted

There was an email profile on microsoft outlook that hasn’t been used for over a year. I deleted the emails in the account today since it is a business computer.
I am starting to think that may have been a bad idea. is there any way to fix this error if needed?

Can I do a system restore to last week? Will the emails still be there?

If the emails are deleted and the trash emptied, does outlook backup the emails anywhere for recovery?

I figure it’s a far shot but I’m just trying to CMA.

System restore won’t get them back. Did you delete the emails AND empty the deleted items folder? If you didn’t empty the folder, they are still there and can be restored, just open it and highlight the items you want to restore, then right-click them and select Move to Folder…, and click the folder to put them back in. If you DID empty the deleted items folder, you’re pretty well boned, AFAIK.

I just used this program Search and recover 3 for the free trial and it seems to work on outlook express, it claims to work on Outlook as well. Though the trial only lasts for 3 emails, if its something that needs done, it can be done.

*Use Anti Virus to scan for bugs, as with any download.

What sort of email account was it? If it was a Microsoft Exchange account, it may be possible to retrieve the messages even if the Deleted Items folder was emptied, depending on the settings of the Exchange server.

It was a university webmail account :frowning:
