On Night Court, it was revealed that ADA Dan Fielding’s middle name was in fact Reinhold (named after series creator Reinhold Weege).
Actually, Reinhold was his FIRST name. His middle name is actually interesting, though.
His full name was Reinhold Daniel Fielding Elmore. He started using Dan instead of Reinhold as a kid, since he considered it a silly name, and dropped the Elmore after moving to New York, to distance himself from his rural roots. So the full name he’s known by for most of the series is, in fact, his middle name.
On the very funny kid’s show The Amazing World of Gumball, Nicole (the mom) is arguing with her high-pressure, overachiever parents:
Nicole: …well maybe that’s because of the ridiculous first name you gave me!
