Maybe not to you, but a lot of people snigger when they meet a man with one of these unisex names (Evelyn, Jocelyn, Shirley, Vivian, etc.) that has lately become overwhelmingly used for females. The brother of a friend of mine is named Beverly and absolutely hates it for this reason.
