Midnight in England!

It is now 25 minutes after midnight in England. I saw the fireworks display on CNN and I’m jealous. You guys even beat out Paris and Madrid.

So has the world ended yet?

I don’t have an evil side. Just a really, really apathetic one.

Happy New Year to all my friends in England!!!

I really try to be good but it just isn’t in my nature!

The PBS and ABC coverage has been exceptional – definitely contributes to a feeling of being connected to the rest of the world.

So far, I think the fireworks displays from Paris and Sydney are tied.

Musically, the Irish choir singing Danny Boy brought tears.

And the Apollo 100 song from Germany? What’s the other name? Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring or something, isn’t it? Outstanding.

Reporting from Eagle Grove, Iowa –

The fireworks in London were very awesome, as were those on the Eiffel Tower. I was interested to see that the Spanish and the Africans both claimed that the next millenium would be theirs.

6:10 Pacific Time & counting… (It’s already day-time in Japan and Australia!)

Happy New Year to all European dopers! The CNN coverage was really good; I enjoyed watching the celebrations and fireworks. Mundane and pointless (and what better place for it?) but it’s oddly moving watching this new year move across the globe.

Still counting down here, out in the heartland. Getting ready to go into work and stand vigilantly by for the “crisis that won’t happen”.

All the best to all here in the coming year.

China was supposed to have the best pyrotechinics after all, they practically invented them.

Every few minutes watching the china y2k, the screen would go into a scrambled frenzy.
