Midnight snack?

Ok… so for the past year or so about once or twice a week I will wake up in the middle of the night and go to the kitchen and begin eating. Its weird because the stuff I eat then is random, for example, last night I ate sourdough bread covered with left over cold mexican cheese dip. My boyfriend sometimes wakes up when I get up to do this and he says he tries to talk with me but I’m either real rude or unresponsive. What could be causing my late night binges? What can I do to stop it, short of tying myself to the bed?

Well, what do you eat for supper? If you ate a good supper, you wouldn’t be waking up hungry in the middle of the night.

Do you find yourself getting sleepy after a normal meal? Are you having to pee more often then you have in the past? Have you lost 10-20 pounds for no reason in the past month or two?

If so, you might be a diabetic. That’s what happened to me.

I was unaware that midnight snacking was a symptom of diabetes… is it?

Getting ravenously hungry between meals can be.

From this site,

The page linked above also has a link to an overly-simplified online diabetes survey to see what your chances are. (quick summary: if you’re not feeling good and you have a history of diabetes in your family, see a doctor).

Oh, and when I get woken up in the middle of the night with an insulin reaction, I go to the kitchen and eat until I feel better, which is what caught my eye from the OP.

Why not get your boyfiend to tie you to the bed?

lol great idea
