Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt has a few kids. Is their last name “Dirnt”, or is it “Pritchard”, Dirnt’s original last name?
It’s a nickname not a legal name as far as I know. His kids are Pritchard it seems.

My father informally changed his name and the new name was the name given my sister. Once a birth certificate was issued in that name, that became her legal name.
