Mild elbow psoriasis... most effective med/treatment?

I have a tiny patch of psoriasis on my left elbow, the elbow I am constantly leaning on in bed and other places. It won’t bother me for months, then suddenly the elbow gets all tender and hurty, which is annoying.

I have been using Psoriacin gel, which is a coal tar preparation. Until recently it worked fantastically: one or two light applications and in 24 hours I’d be good to go for many months. Lately though it doesn’t seem to be working all the well unless I rub it on my elbow every day, at least 2-3 times. I forget to do it as soon as it isn’t actively bothering me, and it flares up again right away.

So is there a better medication or treatment out there?

See a dermatologist. They are many steroidal creams/ointments of varying strengths. The only thing that has worked for me is a strong ointment with an occlusive dressing. Think Saran wrap. It helps but doesn’t completely clear it up.
