Where are you seeing a pit link? It should not be showing outside the pit because it is against policy to post in such a way as to make that happen.
I don’t think this is correct. As far as I know you can link to the Pit if you want, and if you quote a post from outside the Pit in the Pit, a link will automatically be added to the post in the original thread that will include the title of the Pit thread. That’s why all the Pit titles have been changed from “Poster is a despicable lying sack of shit who should fuck themselves with a 6 foot cactus” to “Pitting this poster”.
Just yesterday you created a thread, “Leviticus 18:22 translation and meaning”. It was a spin-off of the “Trump is dying” thread, and in your OP you linked back to the Pit thread. So this is a weird thing to claim.

I will push back on this: white knighting is a term used to pathologize standing up for someone you think is being unfairly treated. The implication is that you must be doing it to gain favor from the other person, but the actual reality is that you’re probably just defending someone you think deserves it.
My point is that he doesn’t deserve this title, to wear as an ironic badge of pride for defending someone.

I agree with this. I’ve defended Beck myself at times in the past, not for any altruistic reason, but just because I thought some of the attacks on her were unfair.
Why would you think that? One of Beck’s first posts on joining the board (I believe actually the very first) was an admonition against criticizing her spelling or grammar. I pointed out that we tend to be a nit-picky crowd here and, as the board’s self-appointed annoying pedant, I would likely be the first to correct her.
Her response to that was similar to her responses to the many other criticisms she’s received here – a desire to improve, to conform, and to be liked. She stands her ground on principles like old-fashioned patriotism and old-fashioned social values, which is her right, even if shaped by limited exposure to a larger world, but it sometimes unfairly gets her demonized.

This is a “mild pitting” thread. Beck has deserved the mild pittings. She obviously rubs enough people the wrong way to have this thread. I probably deserve my own mild pitting thread, but I don’t post around the clock to have my name a “household name”. Maybe this will elevate my notoriety!
Sorry, I was thinking of thread names with troll or something similar in the title. So now I just don’t understand what the poster (whom I quoted) was referring to. Nor what prompted the post. It probably doesn’t matter.
