Serious question: It does? Where did you learn that? What reasoning is used to support this claim?
I’m aware of the concept of “toxic personalities.” I am lucky not to have any toxic people significantly involved in my personal life right now, so I don’t generally find myself in need of the term.
But I’ve known toxic people in the past, both male and female, and would not hesitate to label them as such. Unless, of course, I’m missing something and calling a woman “toxic” is bigoted in some way. If so, I need to be enlightened.

The word “toxic” definitely has a modern cultural link to one sex. But it isn’t yours.
In all honesty I haven’t.
As Darren said, it usually is paired with “masculinity”. And unfortunately, toxic masculinity is not hard to find.
“NASTY” is the usual one in front of that word in my experience… just saying …

It’s amazing to see you be confidently wrong about the connotation of toxic, lie about it, and then have you be equally confidently wrong about this. Just so you know, bald, bold, and bare faced are all accepted uses, and bald is preferred.

The “b-word” has fallen out of favor in recognition of the fact that (as applied to humans) it is a misogynistic term, so in that sense, it doesn’t really matter what you put in front of it. “[any adjective] bitch” is not very nice. But saying the word “toxic” is sexist because it is occasionally paired with “bitch” is like saying “stupid” is a sexist word because people say “stupid bitch.”
There is nothing special about toxicity as paired with women - as @Darren_Garrison was the first to point out, it’s actually the other way around. “Toxic masculinity” is definitely a concept currently in play, and it’s not exactly a compliment to the whole of the male gender.
If I Google the term “toxic bitch” it tells me there is a 2022 song by that name and a cocktail (!) by that name.
If IGoogle the term “toxic boss” I get a gazillion hits, mostly articles giving advice on how to deal with a toxic boss.
Does that mean we should drop the term “toxic” because it’s biased against bosses? I think not.
Anyway, “stupid boss” must be doubly off the table. A good thing I had very few of those in my career.
ETA: I just compared the number of hits on permutations of the above words. Here’s how many there were:
220,000 hits on toxic bitch
431,000 on toxic boss
2,160,000 on stupid bitch
121,000 on stupid boss
3,660,000 on toxic masculinity
Make of that what you will!
And just to bring it back to a (seemingly necessary) moment of clarity, relevance, and sanity … none of this has anything whatsoever to do with my comment that included the term, “NON-TOXIC.”

Very true. I shouldn’t even bother to discuss the matter. I was lured in (more accurately, I kicked the door open like an impulsive SWAT team member) because I like semantics.
I simply answered Carols question. She had never heard it used in a nasty gendered term.
