Million Dollar Password

Anyone else geeked about the return of this classic game show?

Somewhere between cleaning the cat’s litter box and having my next colonoscopy.

Ok my butt be showing again.

In deferance to our interaction in the most recent Mafia (I really think you have the analytical skills to be good at it, by the way) game my original post is just snarky and obnoxious.

Should have been more along the lines of:

Not necessarily. But that’s just because it’s not my cup of tea.

I’m curious, not geeked. And my curiousity is balanced by trepidation-- I’ve heard of the original Password, but it’s too old for me to remember it. That’s not what causes the trepidation–what causes the trepidation is the number of exciting new game shows where they show 15 minutes of content over the course of an hour. Do Not Like. Like Jeopardy because the answers come immediately after the questions (er, questions come immediately after the clues?).

But I’ll give it a try anyway.

Could be fun! I’m glad to see Betty White will be on the premiere. Thanks for the heads up! I set my DVR.

I am totally geeked! I could win some serious money on this show . . . if I had the right partner. Discuss celebrities you’d want to sit opposite you . . . and those you wouldn’t.

I am a little. Password has become a family tradition at holiday gatherings and I am the king, so it would be interesting to see the real game show in action.

I’m excited about Password coming back, but with reservations. Besides the fake pauses and manufactured suspense endemic in most of today’s game shows, it almost looks like it resembles Super Password , an “updated” yet vastly inferior version of the original.

Then again, Bert Convy’s dead, so how bad can this one be?

I’ll give it a shot.

[Voice rising]Noooooooooooo[/Voice rising]

I thought it was … not unwatchable.

I watched it…it was ok,probably watch again.

Rachael Ray was bad. Good thing she is one of the worlds great cooks.

I liked it! It went fast, and not much filler. Rachael Ray was not good.

It didn’t follow the original format though, with the back and forth between contestants.

Yeah, that’s about how I felt. (Although I should give it another chance while not trying to knit a short row heel).

On the plus side, they wasn’t a lot of overdramatic pauses.

On the not so plus side, it just didn’t engage me a whole lot. And while contestents can theoretically try for a million dollars, most won’t.

I would have preferred something closer to the original format. Whenever they were doing their lightning round or whatever they called it, I kept want to yell “Shut up Regis!” whenever he’d say “You have 20 seconds left…”

Rachel Ray was just sad.

If you can’t get “sailor” from “Navy” and “man”, Password might not be your game.

For those that haven’t seen Sunday’s episode, I’ll spoilerbox my thoughts on the ending.

I thought they kind of punked the guy in the bonus round when they showed him five easy words to have him make a decision whether or not to go for the next level. When he passed, the substitute word was “fiasco” which he did a terrible job on. It was a lot harder than his known words.

Yeah…but if ya dont give Popeye as a clue for sailor, the same can be said.

Or “swabbie.”

Did someone give her seamen?

I was a huge fan, and so if I remember to watch, I’ll be there.

Let me try.
“Clusterfuck…”
