Minnesota Dopers- Need opinion! Fast!

I need a recommendation for a restaurant in the Twn Cities area that would be a great place to propose. (The nephew went and bought the ring and everything- for a butthead, he’s a romantic)

One caveat- MUST have a vegetarian menu…

Azia (a new place on Nicollet) is AMAZINGLY GOOD. And it’s sort of a trendy but quiet and romantic setting.

Cafe Brenda is nice at night (candlelight and everything) and is almost totally vegetarian.

I’ve heard good things about 13 Moons in downtown Robbinsdale. I myself have never been there but I believe it is quaint, quiet, and has some vegetarian options (not totally vegetarian though). Might want to check it out with a phone call or a quick visit if her answer is riding on the restaurant choice

Cafe Brenda’s a good call. Quite a bit of traffic running around the place, what with all the bars around it (Might be good to have a few cocktails after the big one, however). Food and atmosphere are laid back, but classy.

Again, good call.

You might also want to consider Nicollet Island Inn. Very romantic and private. Moreso than Cafe Brenda, in my opinion. Fire places… candle light… view. Mmmmm!

Not strictly a vegetarian place, but enough on the menu to not only get by, but make it enjoyable.

Ex was a veggie and she loved both. I prefered Nicollet Island inn simply because atmoshphere was so nice.

Not a bad recommendation in the bunch so far, though.

Nicollet Island Inn is a great choice - they can then spend their wedding night at the Inn to round out the romance (although I have no idea what their vegetarian menu is like). We spent our honeymoon night here.
This restaurant is excellent - pricey though - and in a really odd St. Paul location: http://www.heartlandrestaurant.com The atmosphere is very elegant Frank Lloyd Wright. Last I heard, I know the pastry chef (but haven’t talked to her in months, so she may no longer work there).

I always think W.A. Frost is one of the most Romantic restaurants in the Twin Cities. Not much of a vegetarian menu.

The India Palace in Woodbury is wonderful. Get the vegetarian dinner for two.

I know W.A. Frost has won awards in recent years.

I haven’t lived there in a few years… did the Loring Café & bar go away?

Alas, the Loring is no more.

The best restaurant in Minneapolis, IMO, is D’Amico Cucina. It’s very pricey, but for a proposal it would be hard to beat. The menu is Italian, so there should be some vegetarian options, but I’d call first to be sure.

A more affordable but still very nice alternative would be Luci Ancora in St. Paul. Also Italian, and run by a very nice mother/daughter team.

Reservations at either place are a must.

You guys don’t remember the news expose that pointed out that W.A. Frost failed health inspections on a regular basis, do you? Nice decor, but I’d pass on W.A.

Nicollet Island Inn is very nice to. I think any gal worth her salt would figure out that she’s going to get proposed to once she realized she was eating at the Inn.

I used to live a block away from the Heartland’s location. I’ve heard good things about the resturaunt, but that location turns over on average, once every thirteen seconds. Better go soon.

I proposed at the Nicollet Island Inn. Well, after having dinner there, on a walk, anyway, so based on my limited sample group, if he chooses that restaurant, the answer will be yes.
