Ok, it wasn’t REALLY a felchers anonymous meeting but we did meet and had a lot of fun! After work I went to meet her at a restaurant and my sister-in-law joined us.
We decided to heck with the waistline and each had a chocolate shake. Yum! Canthearya is a great gal and a lot of fun. She didn’t laugh when I showed her the picture of Ricky Martin that I keep in my purse (shut up! It is TOO normal for someone my age carrying around a picture of a rock star!).
We were laughing about a lot of the stuff we read about on this board and my sister-in-law learned about felching. Her life is complete now.
I am cutting her hair and giving her a makeover on Friday. She said she will let you guys know if I’m good or if I suck.
I pictured her with long black hair and I was off the mark. She has pretty brown hair and is cute as a bug (I officially hate her for that reason ;)).
As we gossipped about all of you we tried to tell my SIL how much fun this board is but I don’t think she quite understood why a lot of what we told her was funny. I just told her that she had to be there.
All in all it was great. I’d read the threads of dopers meeting and get jealous and now I got to meet someone, too. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
MaryAnn
Crowded elevators smell differently to dwarfs.
Holy felching, MaryAnn. You scared me with that title! Last night you kept saying, “Oooh, I’m gonna tell the board!” whenever I said something off the wall… You had me worried. Thanks for keeping my secrets to yourself.
We didn’t talk much about Dopers themselves, more about threads and SDMB interests we have in common. MaryAnn and I employ essentially the same browsing style. We’re mainly MPSIMS and BBQ Pit people and we use the hit-and-miss method, reading threads that sound interesting.
Dopers who were mentioned, albeit briefly: ChiefScott the Smiley Master, Coldfire the MPSIMS Thread King, Shirley Ujest in connection with my PMS-inspired tirade, and we reminded each other of Eve’s television appearance.\
If I had to describe MaryAnn in one word it would be EveryWoman. She knows who she is, she’s down to earth, doesn’t take any crap, loves her job and her son. She’s exactly the kind of woman that you’d want as an older sister.
Nice meeting you, girlfriend! Can’t wait to be all beautified on Friday!
You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be misquoted, then used against you.
I’m sure everyone would guess (if they gave a crap about this thread in the first place :d) that we also talked about the lovely and talented SqrlCub, Queen of the Felchers. Love ya SqrrrrlyBoy!
I know you won’t see this 'til tonight MaryAnn, but thanks for all the fun. I don’t know when I’ll be back to Eau Claire again, but when I’m back I’ll look your crazy third-nippled (whoops!) self up!
She didn’t get a new haircut, just a trim and style. The new look she got was with make-up! She let me have fun and put it on anyway I wanted to. I must say she looked like quite the fox! Sadly, neither of us had a camera.
MaryAnn! Love the trim! My bangs are exactly the right length and out of my eyes, thankyouverymuch.
The makeup is another story. I absolutely loved it. Made me feel sophisticated. But my husband had another reaction. I can’t say I didn’t expect it…
“Oh my God, what happened to your eyes?”
He thought I had blacked my eyes or something. What a goof. But that’s the only thing he noticed. The rest of the makeup was so natural… Maybe we’ll go without eyeliner next time.
