Misremembered theme song lyric (Laverne&Shirley)

Y’all are going to think I’m crazy for asking but for some reason I remember (would have been 12 at the time) them changing the last line of the Laverne&Shirley theme song for the final season for when they were in California.
Instead of the line “make our dreams come true, for me and you” they changed it to “make our dreams come true, in 1982.”
For whatever reason I would sing it this way for many years after if I heard the song. Did they do this or is it something I made up on my own as a dumb kid?

Here’s the theme song from the final season, without Cindy Williams. No change in lyrics that I could detect. And since the setting was 1967, it wouldn’t make sense anyways.

I was an adult before I realized they were saying “schlemiel, schlamatzl,” referring to the Yiddish concept. I always thought it was “Schlemeegle, Schlemoggle” or some similar nonsense words.

The way I heard it, “beer” was substituted for “soup.”

Hasenpfeffer is actually rabbit stew. It’s yummy!

I learned that from Bugs Bunny.

That opening is sad. Everybody but Laverne and Squiggy jumped ship?

I learned it from a Hogan’s Heroes comic book. (Yes, a lot of TV series had their own comic books back in the day.)

That’s weird, isn’t it? Michael McKean and Eddie Mekka (Lenny and Carmine) are clearly visible in the opening montage. I wonder why they weren’t credited.

I don’t believe they were in every episode of the final season. Also, Cindy Williams was in the first two episodes of Season 8. The last season was a bit of a mishmash.
