Just saw Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day this last weekend.
Frances McDormand is absolutely wonderful. What a marvellous actress that woman is.

I immediately put it in my Netflix queue - seems perfect for a Friday night after the kids are in bed…glad to hear you think it delivered.
It’s cute, charming, harmless. No great shakes, but mild fun. Amy Adams is in good form (though in danger of being typecast), it was nice to see Ciaran Hinds in something lighter, and Shirley Henderson (as always) delivers the goods in a supporting role.
It read like a short story by P.G. Wodehouse to me. You know everyone’s going to end up happy and with the right person in the end, so it’s predictable, but it’s classy and witty and fun for the ride.
Loved the dialogue, especially in the beginning, and everyone was fantastic–especially Shirley Henderson as a sneaky slimeball of a cheating wife.
(Did anyone else pick up on a vibe between Miss Pettigrew and Delysia? It wasn’t overdone, but certain scenes…)
I saw an early screening a few weeks ago and thought it was fun. Nothing serious, you leave happy. Amy Adams is turning up all over the place.
I also won a big box of Conair goodies! They were hosting the screening.
