Missed opportunity for revenge!

If my kids have one unfailing quantity, it’s there ability to wake up at 7am on weekends. Less me and the missus should oversleep, they conspire to wake us up by 7:15. This is accomplished by, turning on the living room TV too loud, making ungodly noise and arguing amongst themselves.

Sunday, I happen to awake at 6:30, I had to use the bathroom. When I return to the bedroom, Mrs. Stuffinb, is also awake, and to my pleasant surprise is feeling randy. I go and lock the door (learned the hard way) and return to bed…

It’s now 10 after 8. We’re talking and giggling in the after glow when all of a sudden we both realize “Hey there’s no noise, the kids aren’t up”. “You know what we should do” I say “let’s turn the TV up really loud and debate over which characters we are”. “Yeah, and then we could go in the kitchen bang stuff around, and start an argument,” says wife. “Good idea, we can bust into their room and say ‘see these identical coffee cups, tell her this one’s mine” I say. We continue on like this for a few minutes.

Having formulated our plan, we creep into the living room and……

Get coffee; retrieve the paper and retreat to our room. We didn’t want to pass up the opportunity to read our paper in peace and quite. Oh well, it was a fun fantasy though.

Having spent most of last week in the company of a 5YO, I’d probably take the chance of coffee and a paper in peace, too! You can get your revenge later when they are teens and want to sleep 'til noon on Saturdays!
