I wasn’t expecting the other extreme of only one officer. That’s ridiculous. Other than that you make very good points. It also just occurred to me that the crew spent the entire day arresting people and some of the earlier violators could have been way more dangerous.
When you’re going to a place where you know you’re going to arrest someone you take as many officers that are available.
Sometimes that’s only one, and sometimes it’s 20.
But there is no such thing as overkill when it comes to back up.
Sadly, there is such a thing as overcapacity when it comes to structures.
Real life is not like TV/Movies. How many shows have you seen where stars show up without backup, without others covering the “back”, or go crashing through doors and down into dark basements alone? Even traffic stops now will have backup.
Except in an emergency, law enforcement shows up in preplanned force.
But that’s a one time accident that no one could have anticipated.
