I run a thing called C Cleaner on my Dell Dim 3 K with WXP to just speed things up when I’m playing WoW, but yesterday I noticed that when I hit “Run Cleaner” at the bottom right in red letters is the phrase “piriform Cleaner”.
“PIRIFORM” not perform?
Is piriform a word that I don’t know about or is it a misspelling of “perform”.
Everytime, I get an e-mail with misspelled words I automatically think “virus” and delete it, but this is supposed to be a legitimate site.
Did someone just goof on the spelling or am I missing something?
Just forgot to hit the space bar, is all. I do know better.
Just to clarify, some of the e-mails I get that tell me to click on a link, appear legit (logo and all), but will have misspelled a word, so when I see that, I just delete it.
Hence my question about “piriform”. Just a clever play on a word, I suppose, but it made me wonder! So, as I read in another post: “ignorance fought!”
I agree that misspelled words/clueless attempts at punctuation, etc, are present in 100% of spam/scam emails, but they’re also present in about 97% of the rest of the internet, too, including genuine emails from legitimate sources. Expecting legitimate sources to be free of errors doesn’t seem to me to be a foolproof way of deciding what’s kosher and what isn’t.
I made my point by finding an error in your post - how many posts don’t contain an error somewhere, including mine on occasion? It’s a reasonable guideline, but it’s not foolproof, by any means.
Anyway, it’s all cool. One thing that errors are good for is telling different kinds of people apart: the ones that get all abusive and aggressive when you point out an error aren’t worth any further consideration, the ones who take it in good grace are decent folks. This IS foolproof, by the way - and you passed the test.
