Why would you think it has to be a real person?

I think i was thinking that because of the 1985 book, “Dear Mr. Fantasy” by Ethan Russel. He dedicates the book to John Lennon and there are a few pictures of Lennon in the preface. before I’d seen the book, I don’t think I ever thought of Mr. Fantasy as a real person but after the book, I began to wonder if the songwriter had actually meant it as a real person.
