MIT Press is going to publish my book

Understood and no matter, play and game theory has always been a fascinating and interesting topic to me. So is application of the theories, of course, but gaining insight into research and its broad reach sounds like a great and enlightening read.

Let me know when it’s available on my Nook!

I got very enthused, reading this thread. Planning to go look up some of the related and only tangentially related books listed above, and then… I’ll be pre-ordering.

Congratulations, Hamster! (Use a different name as the author. Piece of advice.)

Yes, my wallet is waiting to send you money…

Just an update with the latest news. I finished the revisions requested by the editor and sent them off yesterday. This morning I woke up to find a contract in my in-box.

Congratulations. It’s a major achievement.

What RealityChuck said. Great news, looking forward to reading your book!

I just sent the final draft off to the publisher. I’m done!

Well, mostly done. I’ll still have to check the page proofs and make an index in a month or two … .

What an exciting concept to be exploring! I look forward to reading your book as well!

The page proofs have arrived! The diagrams got all jacked up in the translation from Word to Illustrator, but other than that it looks great. Now I have a month to proofread and index.

I can’t wait for your book to come out! Please notify us or me when we can order. It sounds like the closest thing I have found to something I have found very little information on.

If you can get someone to read as well, that also helps. I find I miss thing all the time.

[Professor Frink demonstrates a corn popper toy to a class of kindergarteners.]

Frink: The compression and expansion of the longitudinal waves cause the erratic oscillation, you can see it there, of the neighbouring particles.
[A little girl attracts Professor Frink’s attention]
Frink: Yes, what is it, what, what is it?
Little Girl: Can I play with it?
Frink: No you can’t play with it, you will enjoy it on as many levels as I do… Mm-hai bw-ha whoa-hoa. The colors, children. Mwa-ha-hee

Seriously, though, congratulations.

Next time you write a book, index as you go along. All three books I have published were in TeX, which automatically tracks those index marks so it is easy. But I assume you can do that in any decent program.

Apparently. :stuck_out_tongue:

Holy crap, I have to read that. Are you comfortable with letting us know when the book is out an where we can order it?

Oooh, let us know if there’s an opportunity for us to pre-order it!

And … I just sent off the index to the publisher. Unless I made some mistake in the index they want me to fix, I am DONE.

The publication date is March 2015. It’s in the MIT Press catalog, but they don’t seem to be accepting pre-orders yet.

Thanks for the update! I’ve made a note in my calendar to check back in the new year. The blurb on that page only intrigues me more!
