My Book is Coming out in Paperback!

Damn! Just got an e-mail from them today!
I thought they forgot about me.

It’s print-on-demand, but it’s still something.

Congratulations! Who’s publishing it?

I demand more information!

Yes, please. More information.

(OK, I’m polite - but it’s still a demand!)

I’ve enjoyed your writing (web based) in the past and will likely be interested in this as well.

I think it is against board rules to plug your own book for sale. However, I hope the OP gets permission from a Moderator to do so, as I would also like to check this out. I have enjoyed his writings in the past.

This wasn’t intended as a plug (and I’m not posting the name on this thread) – enough of the older members know about this, and I’m just astounded that they actually went through and did this.

What’s it about? Is it fiction? I have so many questions!

OK. Now I’m conflicted. Is it advertising if I reply in personal responses, or have I crossed a line?

I’ve asked the mods, Cal. I for one would like to know more about your book. Since you didn’t originally post with title, author, and cost and are merely answering questions, I would assume it would be okay, but I’m not going to speak for the mods.

Congratulations! Kudos! Praise! Felicitations, best wishes, compliments, and hail!

toasts with champagne

I’d also love to hear about the book, if that’s okay…

Just tell us about it. Who cares if it’s advertising. Well, some do, but to hell with 'em.

Dorrance?

Try this. Wirite post where the first letter in each sentence spells out the title of the book. That should fool 'em.

Congrats!

It’s not “promotion” if you’re just telling us what you’ve written. Spit it out.

Yeah, but I don’t want to lose my privilege to post bad puns, wild-eyed guesses, and blatantly incorrect “facts” on this Board.

 Well, you could always PM or email those who request the info, right?

And then, one of the persons who received the information could post it, kinda accidental like.

Nahh – that won’t work. I once posted a coded message, and I used a simple first-letter code as a “decoy” message (I encoded four messages or so) nobody had any problem finding that decoy.

So your book is called “Ni” about a race of knights with a love for topiary. I’ll check it out.

Medusa: Solving the Mystery of the Gorgon by Stephen R. Wilk.

This gets me a free book, right?
