Anybody know how to un-lock a Mitsubishi HS-U35 VCR?

Tried to turn the VCR on only to find that it somehow got locked - probably stepped on the remote. Since I can’t find the manual I’m screwed - the VCR is about six years old - it might have functions similar to others of that period.

Have you tried unplugging it and leaving it unplugged for a few minutes? That should erase it’s memory (assuming it has one).

On a rca you just push the power button for 6 seconds.

Thanks for the ideas. I tried unplugging the vcr while looking for an answer on their web page, after about 30 minutes unplugged it remained locked.

I found a reset button - as I suspected it reset everything so I had to reset the time date and channels.

If it happens again I’ll give it the rca fix.
