This does help the Yanks. Gives the bullpen a rest and Cortez will probably start now.
Yes but Bieber might start as well.
MLB.com is projecting the starters as:
Guardians: RHP Aaron Civale (5-6, 4.92 ERA)
Yankees: LHP Nestor Cortés (12-4, 2.44 ERA)
On paper that gives the advantage to the Yankees. However they have kept Cortes on a short leash with regards to innings and pitches. He’s never worked on short rest. Originally Taillon was going to pitch. He had one advantage all year, luck. The bats always seem to wake up when he’s on the mound.
Normally a 4pm start on a weekday wouldn’t be a big deal, because I’d just watch the game on my iPad while working (like I did last week), but I’m in the office today. Meh. This building tends to be where phone signals go to die, but I’ll have to see if I can squeak out some streaming this afternoon…if not, maybe I can leave a little early and try to catch the last 3-4 innings.
Cabrera!
Perhaps you meant Stanton?
Too excited. Yes, of course I mean Stanton… ![]()
All rise!
That collision was painful to watch.
Every season, I tell myself to not be so invested in how the Yankees do…then every season, there’s a game where the last three outs find me barely able to sit still…
Woo hooo!!! Yankees are ALCS bound!! ![]()
Are you telling me I have to root for the Astros? I don’t think I can, but there is no viable alternative.
Anyway, congrats to the NY fans here.
I can’t bring myself to root for either team in that series. It’s like asking me whether I’d prefer to eat horse shit or cow shit. Ugh. The NLCS at least looks fun to me with the matchup, though it feels weird to see not one 90+ game winner in it.
It’s like when the Super Bowl involved the Rams and the Patriots, when asked who people should root for, one meme was “root for the meteor”.
That has torn ACL written all over it. Hicks has been snake bitten with injuries his entire career.
Unfortunately that can be pinned on Cabrera. Rookie mistake.
It will be interesting to see if they shake up the roster at all.
I suspect they will carry one more pitcher instead of Hicks. Marinaccio was projected to be back.
Off to Houston, does not bode well for the Yanks.
Well, we won the right to have a chance.
Congratulations, New York.
Beat the Trash-stros.
This will be the first time in my 70 years I will ever have rooted for the Yankees.
The Cheat-Stro’s should have had their 2017 “title” vacated and been relegated to AAA ball.
Of course this has never happened before, in either league.
