May we have lots of extraneous runs!
Speaking of extraneous runs. Braves 4 game series versus Rockies. In Atlanta, NOT Coors Field.
Braves 9 - Rockies 8 (the one close game)
Braves 11 - Rockies 3
Braves 9 - Rockies 0
Braves 11 - Rockies 2
Total of the series:
Braves 40 - Rockies 13
If we could erase one really bad first inning by Beachy in the first game, we would take 5 runs off that total for the Rockies. He’s allowed a bad inning considering it was his first inning since TJ surgery last year.
This was after sweeping the Cardinals lat weekend.
Feeling good about playoffs this year. We need to avoid the damn play in game this year!!
I’d like to set up a foundation that would collect extraneous runs from teams that have offense and give them to needy, deserving teams that are struggling with it, like the Reds.
At this point, I’m willing to accept anus runs for the Reds, in addition to extraneous ones.
We’re definitely not that desperate here in Tiger land. All anus runs can be kept by originator, thank you.
You’re all heart, Colibri. GO TRIBE!
Come to think of it, the big smiley looks a lot like Chief Wahoo.
What’s with the BoSox and all the walk-off wins this year? Last night’s was quite the comeback, like the Mother’s Day Miracle in '07.
I’m not wonderfully comfortable with their pitching right now, we’ll see how Jake Peavey does tomorrow night. We need Bucholtz back on the mound and pitching like he did at the start of the season. If he’s healthy enough to join in the walk-off scrum he’s healthy enough to pitch.
I think it mainly shows the quality of the bullpens they’ve been facing recently.
Totes agree about the pitching, but the remarkable thing to me is that they actually have some depth in the minors, too. And that doesn’t include Aceves, who needs to be traded if they’re never going to let him out of the doghouse. I’m surprised he didn’t go at the deadline.
For better or worse, he’s too valuable to trade, but too much of a head case to keep with the club unless he’s absolutely needed.
In what is starting to become typical fashion when Hyun Jin Ryu pitches, the Dodgers surrender 14 hits, but only 2 runs (aided somewhat by poor base-running), and beat the Cubs 6-2.
I’m thinking that, based on his appearance in the 9th, the Carlos Marmol experiement is not going to be a lengthy one.
I was honestly rooting for them in 1997 after they beat the Yanks in the playoffs. Then they go and lose to the frikkin Marlins, fer Chrissakes.
Well, the O’s and Chris Davis had a bit of a slump after the break, dropping series to the Royals, of all teams, and the Red Sox (missed opportunity to move up), but take 2 of 3 from Houston and win one tonight over Seattle. The last two games see Davis overtaking Miguel Cabrera for the RBI lead and notches homers #39 and 40.
Way to make a statement Reds. 13-3. Jesus.
Half the fun of listening to that game was thinking “I wonder what FoieGrasIsEvil is going to say about this?”
In the first inning when Arroyo gave up all those runs, I was thinking “This game is already over!”. Jesus it was like 10-0 by what…the third? I turned it off in disgust at that point.
13 is a great number! With today’s win, the Dodgers have won 13 in a row on the road, a new franchise record. One that goes back to the Brooklyn Robins of 1912.
Well well, the Reds show some life after all. 8-3 win. Catcher Devin Mesoraco has really been a pleasant surprise this latter part of the season. It is really nice to have some punch in the bottom of the batting order, as Cardinal fans well know having Molina in that spot in their order.
Rubber match for all the marbles tomorrow at one pm EST. Go Reds!
MLB is preparing to throw the book at A-rod. Reportedly, he’ll be suspended until the end of 2014!
Maybe throwing Fife in there tomorrow to give the rotation an extra day. The rest of the division all lost today. A very good day.
If Puig’s wrist is OK.
Suspend him until 2033!
