Well crap
What a game!
Five hours, 17 minutes of torture.
Congrats Astros!
Ethier — such a weak arm?
That was lots of fun to watch, although the home plate umpire had a diabolically bad game.
I’m just glad somebody finally won.
That was one helluva ball game
Dogged him his entire career.
Normally I would be super confident going into game 6 with a 3-2 lead and Verlander on the mound, but the way this series has been going he’ll probably be chased in the third.
Remember 2012, Verlander was supposed to be lights out then, but in Game 1 he gave up two HRs to Pablo Sandoval, on Pablo’s way to hitting 3 that day.
This is a wild and crazy series.
That throw was lame, and he took a skip step before throwing, too.
Good thing for the Astros that Hinch brought in the pinch runner for McCann at 2nd. If McCann was there, even Ethier would’ve thrown him out.
I haven’t been able to watch the game, but part of the issue could be the notoriously short dimensions down the left field line. When Minute Maid Park was built, I believe that the MLB rules said that the distance from home to the wall (straight down the line) had to be at least 325 feet. The Juicebox (as I’ve heard it unofficially called) is about 315 down the line.
May not seem like ten feet would make much difference, but I’m sure it’s played at least a small part in the stats.
I think this was the best World Series game I’ve ever watched; and I’m mindful of the 15-14 Blue Jays win in '93 and, as a long-suffering Cubs fan, last year’s game 7.
I only saw the first four innings, but he was consistently terrible.
This whole series is a bit of a joke.
I guess it’s fair to say that these teams are pretty evenly matched. I went to bed in the 8th. Glad I didn’t stay up for the 2 hours longer it took for the game to end.
Ah, back when we were young and innocent …
Wish I could stay up late enough to see the good stuff.
I saw it reported that Kershaw’s record in games where he had a 4-run lead at any point was 100-1.
Was.
Kershaw set an MLB record for HRs allowed in the post season.
Yeah that’s pretty late for you. It was another crazy one.
The Dodgers might’ve been jinxed by FOX-TV back in the top of the 5th when the score was 4-4. The Astros had just scored 4 in the bottom of the 4th to tie the game. FOX posted a graphic that said that the Dodgers had not lost a game this season, all season long, after leading by 4+ runs. Uh-oh.
Uh-oh, indeed. Hang on for a wild ride.
How is it a joke? It might be the greatest WS ever; depending on how game 6 plays out and a potential game 7.
