Yes and very few people (not corporations) have full 81 game plans. The “season” ticket plans go for as few as 9 games during the season. And how many of those are holding on to seats if they can make $1,500 per seat for nose bleeds?
I used to do the Saturday or Sunday plans. Generally Right Field Mezz or Field Level or one year RF Bleachers. Those included the right to buy playoff tickets, 1 game per round and then priority for those left-over. But this was over 15 years ago now in the old stadium.
It’s silly to think that someone spending $1500/ticket isn’t a “real fan”. Ticket prices were insane for each of the conference series as well - and the atmosphere at both Yankee and Dodger stadiums was electric. You could easily argue that the box seats in the first several rows were pretty muted (especially at Yankee games), because those seat prices are truly insane - and I definitely wouldn’t argue.
As I recall, for the playoffs, the field level seats were heavy on Corporate tickets and so often not really strong fans, but casual fans that got tickets from Salespeople or connections and even non-Yankees fan. I think @loach is partially correct.
I recall getting some of my best seats from companies hoping to sell more stuff to the company I worked for. A very standard practice.
All right, here it goes…
Why would Florida like the Yankees?
Retirees from the Northeast seems to be the general consensus.
Specifically, from New York.
I very much doubt that retirees from New England are rooting for the Yanks.
I didn’t say New England, but yes. Anything north/east of New York state is likely to be Red Sox fans. NY, NJ, parts of PA, parts of CN, other odd spots around the country are majority Yanks fans. According to this website, much of the east coast of Florida is Yankee-majority:

Some damn good pitching on both sides so far.
Not majority, plurality. Many places on this map the “favorite team” has <25% support, but the other 75% is split among many other teams, mostly big northern cities.
Stanton is amazing this October.
Quite so – all the way to the bottom 5th before the first run! And then Stanton doing his playoff thing in the 6th to have it 2-1.
Dodger’s Defense has been stellar.
I’m hating it.
…again??
Yanks defense has not been stellar.
Not loving that.
Every inning is high tension it feels like.
I’m not up for extra innings, far too tired today.
That’s all I’m hearing about these days.
Not being able to field a throw from the outfield cost the Yankees a run.
Tied going into the ninth. Gotta love it.
We’ll try to help you out with that.
