Yay, Phillies eliminated.
Now if the Dodgers can get out of this hole, things will be swell.

Mookie with a 1st inning HR will help with that.
Stanton hits a lead off homer in the 8th.
Great night including an inexplicable stolen base earlier.
Actually, with one out.
Oops, thx.
If Yanks hang on, Volpe’s catch might be the game winning play.
It definitely saved at least a run.
I don’t understand not giving Witt the green light to steal. That would have absolutely scored a run to tie it up. You have to give the best player on the team an opportunity to create some runs.
Yanks win and Cole on the mound tomorrow. Hopefully we can close it out.
Witt stole 31 bases, but was caught 12 times. Not a great percentage. If he’s caught stealing, you’ve taken the bat out of one of your best RBI and home run guys. But who knows, he may have had the green light, but couldn’t get a good read on the pitcher.
Royals had only six hits and were just 1-5 with runners in scoring position. Not going to win many games with those numbers, particularly when your pitchers walk 9 batters. Yankees were 0-6 with RISP, but hit two dingers. And only walked two batters.
Up 2-1 in the series without Soto contributing much and Judge doing nothing. If they were doing what they did during the year it wouldn’t be close. Great work by the bullpen. Going into the bottom of the 9th I thought my blood pressure would be an issue but Weaver made it look easy.
Dodgers bullpen game shuts out Padres, 8-0. They live to see another day.
Welcome to the 2k 's Dodgers win 8-0 one day lose 0-10 the next
did Othani help any?
Too bad the replay crew flubbed the ball hitting the line. Give Costas credit for knowing the rule- if any part of the ball is over any part of the line, it’s fair. Great catch by Volpe- that was a play of the year caliber play. His defense has been a little spotty at times this year but that was fabulous. A Stanton stolen base- who saw that coming? Nice to see him have a great night. Hope that it rubs off on Judge.
Damn, 8:08pm start for Yanks @ KC tonight.
Apparently a lot of fans angry at the terrible TBS coverage.
MLB continuing with its long standing policy that the more important the game, the harder it must be to watch for eastern time zone workers.
No its policy is the Yankees always get the evening slot if at all possible.
That goes both ways - if Witt, Pasquantino and Salvy did what they did during the year, and the control-expert SPs didn’t walk so many Yankees, it wouldn’t be close.
Sure, that’s a given. And the Dodgers get the prime Pacific time slots above all others.
George Brett is one of my all time favorite players that I got to watch. Now, that is. Hated him as a kid because he was a monster against the Yankees. Brett’s 317 homers don’t look amazing on their own, but that goes with 665 doubles and 137 triples. Also, he was an all-time great postseason performer: .337/.397/.627.
So by all means, have a chat with George Brett. Bring him into the booth for half an inning. We don’t need to see him standing with an interviewer while the game is being played.
Cleveland forces a Game 5 (but Detroit kept coming until the very end).
First game in the series in which the losing team was not shut out.
