However, it would give much pleasure for the Nets to sweep the Astros.
A basketball team winning the World Series would be…interesting, that’s for damn sure.
in any case, I’m pissed at this situation because it impacted me financially - nothing I won’t bounce back from, but shit, it still stings. No risk, no reward, right? But with each successive run, it felt more and more like a kick in the nuts. And shit, I LIKED the Nats this season - I still like them. I just felt the smart money was on the Astros (and at home, no less). Game 1 had me convinced they would be fighting doubly hard tonight, and obviously it was closer besides. Game 2 demonstrated to me that they are fucked. No more throwing good money after bad.
Longtime MLB umpire Rob Drake went off on Twitter, saying "I will be buying an AR-15 tomorrow, because if you impeach MY PRESIDENT this way, YOU WILL HAVE ANOTHER CIVAL WAR!!! #MAGA2020”.
It’s OK to have radical political views.
It’s not OK to threaten to back up those views with the use of weaponry.
They need to fire his ass.
I won’t lie, I feel good. That was a tight game into the 7th, I thought it might go into extra innings and I figured whoever won, would do so by 1 run. It was just waiting to see who cracked first and boy did they crack.
I don’t want to jinx it, but it is looking pretty good for Washington now. Houston used their two best starting pitchers, at home, and lost both games.
Yesterday was the biggest margin of victory in a WS games since Kansas City beat San Fransisco 10 - 0 in 2014 (game 6).
Not looking good, that’s for sure. If the Greinke trade is going to pay off, it will have to be now.
With respect to margin of victory, I can take some comfort knowing that the highest margin of victory in WS history is still held by the 1960 New York Yankees.
From Wikipedia:
Looking at this series through the lens of the 1960 WS, so far the Nats have won one game Pirates-style (5-4) and another game Yankees-style (12-3). ![]()
Yeah, the Yankees still have a bunch of records for overall dominance set in that series.
Joe Girardi to manage Phillies. Good luck trying to manage Harper’s ego, Joe.
The Globetrotters could do it.
Given Girardi’s experience with the Yankees and their roster, he may be uniquely qualified to handle Harper.
I’m perfectly okay (though a little skeptical) with Ross in Chicago, but I kinda wanted Joe back in his hometown
Jayce Tingler to manage Padres…Mark Wahlberg to recreate the character in the upcoming Boogie Nights 2. ![]()
Bolding mine.
And you are correct.
Although not an option for me. No Taco Bells here.
But I am curious, do you get a free taco for every base stolen? I think we have three already.
Anyone know?
I didn’t watch the game and I’m just reading a news story about it that isn’t clear on one thing. Did the Astros issue an intentional walk with 2 outs in the seventh inning?
Yes - to Juan Soto. Nats proceeded to score 6 runs after that .
After having issued not a single intentional walk during the regular season and the playoffs to date!
You just get one.
