It would be nifty if Peralta would put a ball in the outfield when there are runners on and less than two outs.
Or just strike out so Wong can do his thing.

Coming up on the 2 hour mark, and we’ve just finished the 4th inning.
And with both teams into their bullpens, this game is not likely to speed up. Hunker down…we’re gonna be here for a while.
They should get him out of retirement, for old times sake.
Dear Joe Buck,
A routine fly ball that the left fielder catches easily is not a “shot into the gap!”.
Thank you,
Everyone
I guess the rest of the bullpen is trying to make Rosenthal feel better about himself.
I think the only way the Cards can win this series is if a tsunami hits the stadium and wipes out the Giants. And even then Matheny would find a way to lose.
Congrats to the Royals and to all their fans. It’s been a long wait.
They’re playing great baseball and it doesn’t look like they’ll ever lose.
I’m in favor of this plan. Make it so!
Brandon Crawford looks to me like he can surf.
I’m feeling cautiously optimistic that the Giants can win this series, but I think they’re going to need to reload the magic wandoo if they want to get past the Royals…
If the Giants do win and advance, it will be only the second time in the Wild Card era that the two Wild Card teams face off in the World Series.
The other was 2002, Angels and Giants.
And we all know how that ended, with the Angels being unable to come back from a 5-0 deficit in game 6!
The Royals absolutely deserved that series. Good luck to them against the NL.
Here’s another thing I hate about Fox Sports (it’s a long list): the in-game dugout interview. You have to know that the player/coach would rather be watching the game instead of spouting platitudes. Meanwhile, the game that Fox paid a bundle to broadcast, and that I the viewer WANT TO WATCH! is happening in the background as an afterthought.
A great game-within-the game moment: NLCS Game 3 ended (as you’re all aware) with Gregor Blanco bunting, Choate fielding and throwing the ball away.
So when Choate comes in to Game 4, and Blanco comes up – Blanco squares to bunt on the first pitch (and admits later he did it just to mess with Choate). Choate says “mess with this, buddy” and knocks him down with the 2nd pitch.
I love baseball.
Especially as the person being interviewed is not going to give anything away under any circumstances. They will trot out the same stock answers to the same stock questions they get at the new conference.
OK, Giants, let’s get this done tonight!
I had a bad feeling about this game. Bumgarner’s last 2 road starts (Pittsburgh, St Louis) were great; his last 2 home starts were bad. I would’ve saved him for tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Wainwright looks better than he did in Game 1.
Giants will need to scratch & claw in this one.
That is great ![]()
Is Fox using a St. Louis local broadcast team?
Heh. I find that funny, given that all my St. Louis friends are always complaining that Joe Buck is partisan toward the other team (no matter who that team may be).
Personally, I’ve never noticed any particular favoritism either way. Apparently, though, since he’s Jack’s son, he’s supposed to fellate the Cardinals at every opportunity.
