MLB: September 2024

Pretty much had to be Lindor there.

One of the most interesting games I have ever watched. It looks like the games will be split. The Mets are down 3-0 and have three outs left.

As I suspected, the winner of the first game was mostly disinterested in the second game. Sorry, Arizona, should have won one more game during the season.

Ordinarily I would say the Mets owe it to Arizona to give it their best shot in game 2. But to be fair, they need to worry about starting a 3 game playoff on the road the very next day. I think it would be better to have two days off between the regular season and the playoffs just in case games must be made up as they were today.

Mets made a good faith effort. They saved their starter and rested Lindor who is hurting, but that was a normal lineup.

I blame MLB for getting rid of tie breaking games. A team shouldn’t be eliminated after 162 games due to a tiebreaker.

This doesn’t fit in the postseason thread, but it looks like Cincinnati is going to hire Terry Francona as their next manager.

Cleveland fans are scratching our heads but it doesn’t hurt out hearts so much since we ended up with The World’s Next Best Manager anyway.

We’re glad he’s in the NL. And I don’t really have any hate for the Reds so, hey, if they need some help from Paul Brown Tito, then go Reds!

Not playoff related, but it looks like the Rays’ stadium took a huge wallop from Hurricane Milton and took off some of the roof.

Who had a Stanton stolen base on their bingo card? Nice series. Volpe made a world class play to rob a sure base hit. Well played on both sides, though the home plate umpire was the pitcher’s best buddy last night. Wish Judge would wake up. In the regular season, he’s Battle Cat. In the postseason, he’s Cringer.
