Rickards in Canada puts out Cardigan Beer this time of year - a beer flavoured with cardamon for those chilly fall evenings.
The label has a cardigan on it, and the cap is painted like a button.
mmm - onto my second one for the evening.

The now retired Scandia Ale from Summit had a good dose of cardamom. Bafflingly, it was a spring/summer seasonal. I guess that’s where witbiers fit, but the cardamom was solidly a holiday taste.
not selling me on this one so far. Is it a lightish beer with cardamon spice overlay, a porter, what?
I think it would be quite nice in a Belgian style ale of some sort. Their website describes it as being a lager flavored with “cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and a hint of brown sugar” (no mention of cardamom, though.) I’d be interested in trying a cardamom beer. Don’t think I’ve ever had one.
I haven’t seen cardamom beer here yet, but I will keep my eyes open. Thanks for the tip!
However, as the weather gets colder, I recommend a porter for wintry nights. I well remember years past when the wind was howling, and the snow was flying, and I was cozily ensconsed in my easy chair by the fire, enjoying a porter, a pipe, and a good book.
The pipe is entirely optional, of course, but a porter and a good book by the fire when the snow is flying–heaven!
