When I was in Boy Scouts, one of my scoutmasters specialties was Whatcha-brought Stew. He would put on a large pot of beef stock with lots of stew meat. Everyone else on the camping trip would bring an item to add to the stew, the only rules was it had to be edible, fresh, no spicy hot items, and nothing exotic. I had it about 12 times and most of the time it wasn’t too bad. We also learned a little bit of bear meat can ruin a big pot of stew and no matter how you cook cabbage, even in stew, it still tastes nasty. One I still remember as very good had a lots of fruit in it such as apples, cherries, and blueberries.

Cream of Placenta. It’s exactly the same as Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom, only better.

My favorite has always been Chicken Noodle Poop.

or possibly Chicken 'n Lice.

porcupine: mmmmm… motherly nutrients… drool!
Give me miso soup any day. Yummy!

Chicken posole. (real posole is made with pork; this is my own take on it)

Cook two or three chicken breasts in a crockpot until they fall apart. Then add white hominy and a can of chicken broth. Let them cook for a while. Add diced yellow onion, chili pepper, oregano, salt, pepper, garlic to taste. Before serving add lemon juice. Serve garnished with cilantro.

I actually had Moose stew fairly recently. A friend’s dad brought down a gigantic moose last fall, and they still have meat in the freezer (I suspect they will for years to come, moose are big). It was actually pretty good.

I don’t have much good to say about the moosalami though.
